The aims of the Trust are quite simple, to promote and strengthen the bonds between the club and the local community, to encourage and promote the development of youth and ladies football, to raise money for further investment in the club and to foster good relations between the club and its supporters. In short, as one member put it “we aim to be the conscience of the club and to work in partnership with it”.

The Trust is a highly democratic organisation with one member one vote as its underlying principle. By becoming a member you will hold one share in the Trust and be entitled to vote in elections for the Trust Board and all other matters that are presented to members at Annual and Extraordinary General Meetings. The Trust is a member of Supporters Direct which is funded by Sports England. Supporters Direct was created in 2000 following the recommendations of the government’s Football Task Force that supporters should be given the opportunity to be more involved in the running of their clubs.

This is an important season in the football club’s history and I hope that you feel that joining the Supporters Trust is a positive and worthwhile way in showing your support for your local football club.
