Over 50 supporters attended the Supporters Trust Q & A evening in Hammonds on Thursday 24th April.
The Trust Board confirmed that :
It now has over 160 members
The legal formalities should be completed sometime in May and after that the Trust will be officially up and running.
Until then the Trust cannot open a bank account in the name of the Trust. Cheques made payable to the Trust are being held and will be paid in as soon as the Trust receives the official go ahead. Cheques made payable to the Supporters Club wil be banked next week.
Amongst initiatives being worked on are a two week summer soccer school which will be FREE to participants
The trust was represented at the Richmond May Fair on Saturday 10th May and where they spread the word about the football club to residents at the Richmond end of the Borough.
Hampton Carnival is on Satuday 14th June, and we we were there as well.
Tracey is working with the players to get them more involved with clubs and schools. Several players are already booked to attend Hampton Youth awards evenings
Representing the club were Directors Steve O`Neill and Chas Milner who were both thanked for their sterling work (unfortunately Steve McPherson was away on business). Both Steve and Chas took questions on a variety of topics and gave full and frank answers,
Finance, the club needed to raise some £100k just to stay at this level, if the team went up into the Premier that then bills would go up but it would also provide an excellent opportunity to attract new investors. Money from Setanta would increase, for instance.
There was a very good possibility of new directors coming on board which would bring fresh investment to the club.
The B Grade had been achieved with a day to spare, if the team win through the play offs then the club would have until 31st March 2009 to do the necessary work to remain at that level. Work would include segregating, 2 turnstiles, more toilets, another catering point. Hopefully this time the work would not be done in the last 3 months.
Alan Devonshire had signed a contract to keep him at Beveree until the end of the 2009/10 season, and the club were confident that most of the players would stay.
Steve confrimed that there were discussions with Bedfont Green about them ground sharing at Beveree but no decision had yet been reached. A groundshare would bring in a substantial contribution for the club, apart from the bar and food income which would also be ours.
Next season`s new kit was on display, orders now being taken. Order Form
Pre-season friendlies included Brentford and West Ham, both confirmed, and Chelsea expected in days. Any Premiership friendlies would be all pay on the day, West Ham were sending their full squad and it would be their only friendly in this country.
Season Tickets were available from Robbie and were a bargain because if the club was to go up then the admission price would no doubt rise. Some supporters asked if thoughts could be given to reducing the concession price for Juniors. Steve and Chas promised to discuss such options with the Trust before a decision was made on pricing. Order Form
An excellent and productive meeting.
